Thank you to Waitrose

A big thank you to Waitrose who have donated 1100 trees via the woodland trust.

The trees are a mixture of blackthorn, hawthorn, wild cherry and dog rose and will be planted as part of the Access to Nature programme to thicken the hedge row and provide more cover and food for wildlife in the woods. Waitrose has provided enough trees to plant nearly 2 acres of woodland which is the same as two areas the size of the Colchester Store.

Due to the sheer number of trees we need help to plant them in time for spring, so please get in touch if you’re able to help. We also need to purchase tree guards to protect the young saplings, these will cost in the region of £400, so if you’re able to donate towards this cost or know of a garden centre or nursery who could donate them please get in touch.
