Staff and Volunteer Awards
Celebration of Open Road's staff and volunteers
Open Road celebrated the achievements of staff and volunteers at an event held on Thursday 27 January 2011.
From a short list of nominees, awards were handed out to the Best Employee, Best Volunteer and Best Team of the Year. A judging panel of staff, volunteers and trustees sifted through nominations that came in from across the organisation – from managers, staff, volunteers and service users.
The award for Best Employee went to Lynne O’Sullivan, a keyworker and body therapist, who was nominated for her commitment, dedication and as a well-like team member.
The award for Best Volunteer went to Lisa O’Shea who volunteers as part of our drug treatment service in South Essex, covering Basildon, Brentwood, Castle Point and Rochford.
The award for Best Team went to the Colchester SOS Bus Team who deliver a safe-haven service on Friday and Saturday nights in Colchester Town Centre. The award was picked up by SOS Bus Co-ordinator Wayne Powell on behalf of all the volunteers.
Sarah Wright, Chief Executive, said “Open Road are delighted to have held our first ever Staff and Volunteer Awards. The awards recognise the dedication and commitment of our staff and volunteers to delivering high quality services. It’s great for the individuals and teams who received an award and for the whole organisation to recognise the hard work they put in every day”.
