Open Road Harlow
Open Road Harlow welcome over 50 guests to official opening event on Friday 17th April, with high profile guests Robert Halfon and Chief Executive Sarah Wright.
The Open Road Centre in Harlow hosted an official opening of the newly refurbished building and new premises last Friday. The team welcomed over 50 guests, including Chief Executive Sarah Wright, Trustees, Recovery workers and Service managers, supporters of Open Road and Harlow Conservative candidate Robert Halfon, who hopes to restore his MP title in the upcoming elections.
Guests were welcomed to a buffet lunch prepared by staff for the 2 hour long opening, whilst resuming a normal service for clients away from the celebrations in the centre.
The Harlow team opened their doors to the public on February 23rd and have since settled in to the new premises after a lengthy wait at a smaller centre. The staff are delighted to be in the centre of town, where the recovery centre will be more accessible to service users.
The new Harlow centre in Westgate is currently the only recovery centre located in West Essex, attracting service users from many areas in the county. The centre provides a drug and alcohol recovery service and offers advice, information and support, assessments and access to treatments.

Chief Executive, Sarah Wright stated
“I am delighted that we have finally moved to much larger premises in the centre of Harlow. Having worked out of very cramped conditions for a number of years, this new site has given our staff and volunteers a much needed boost. It was a great honour to have Robert Halfon, our Patron officiating at the launch event.”
Open road will be celebrating 25 years of service in Essex this year and will be holding a series of events throughout the year, including our annual charity ball.
