Legal Highs Conference attracts interest from far and wide

Open Road’s inaugural conference: ‘What’s the story? Legal Highs’ attracted over 70 delegates from across England.

The conference, sponsored by CyberMedia, was held at Essex County Cricket Ground in Chelmsford.  A line up of expert speakers from research, the Police, youth education and the National Treatment Agency offered a broad spectrum of knowledge and views. In addition, stories from service users and their families illustrated the devastating effects these new drugs can have  on individuals, families, communities and wider society.

Conference Organiser, Clive Emmett, who heads up Open Road’s Mid-Essex operation said: ‘We were delighted with the turnout. It just goes to show what a challenge Legal Highs are currently presenting organisations across our society. The atmosphere on the day was inspiring – lots of networking and exchange of opinion between delegates, each of whom brought their own professional perspective on the issue. Thanks to everybody who came along, challenged the speakers and contributed to an engaging event.’
