Douglas Carswell, MP for Tendring, Guest of Honour at Celebration Event
Open Road will welcome Douglas Carswell MP and Open Road Patron as its Guest of Honour at an event to be held on Friday 29th April 2016 at their newly refurbished centre in Clacton.
Open Road is a leading drug and alcohol addiction support charity in East Anglia with over 25 years’ experience in the field and has a dedicated centre in Clacton. Douglas Carswell MP will be joined by Essex County Council Head of Commissioning for Public Health and Wellbeing - Ben Hughes, Vice Chair of Essex County Council - Councillor John Aldridge, Essex County Councillors and Tendring District Councillors, CEO of Tendring Mental Health Support - Avril O’Sullivan, Ingrid Gardiner of Big Society Funding CIC plus representatives from many partnership organisations such as Tendring CVS, Beacon House, Dimensions, Tendring Community Safety Partnership, as well as our trustees, staff, volunteers and supporters.
The event celebrates Open Road’s refurbishment of the Clacton centre, allowing them to offer even more support to local people in need. Open Road is delighted with this achievement, which shows our very strong commitment to provide key welfare services to the local Tendring community, in welcoming pleasant surroundings.
Douglas Carswell MP noted he was delighted to attend our event, ”Open Road makes a real difference to the lives of people in my part of Essex who are suffering from drug and alcohol addiction. I have nothing but admiration for the work that they do.”
Open Road offers a wide range of services including structured day programmes and counselling. Open Road’s approach is to support people on their journey to recovery – this means getting them well and addiction-free but also helping them get back into normal life as useful members of their community and wider society.
