Celebration event for Medway’s new Young People’s Substance Service
Open Road will be welcoming guests, including Mayor Cllr Barry Kemp, to celebrate the launch of its new Young People’s Substance Misuse Service on Friday 12th of December 2014 at their centre in Medway.
The new service is aimed at young people, aged between ten and twenty-one, who are using drugs and/or alcohol. Open Road will provide support and information about drugs and alcohol, as well as the risks and how to reduce them as well as providing support for friends and family members who are worried about someone they know with an addiction.
Suzanna Taylor, Commissioner for the Public Health Directorate in Medway says, “I am very much looking forward to working with Open Road and ensuring that the new service is accessed by even more young people, earlier intervention improves the chances of children and young people across Medway having improved opportunities in life.”
Open Road staff, volunteers and service users will be on hand to welcome guests and tell them lots more about the service on offer.
